A group of Focus on the Family allies is fighting back against Twitter’s censorship of The Daily Citizen. State and national organizations, representing millions of Americans, have started a Twitter campaign. Organizations and individuals are retweeting this message from Family Policy Alliance (@family_policy):

CENSORSHIP ALERT: Twitter banned @FocusCitizen from their platform. The crime? A tweet which identified Asst. Health Sec. Rachel Levine as a biological male. If stating the facts gets you banned, none of us belong here. @Twitter, we’re wondering: #AreWeNext? RT to speak out!

Readers can retweet or tweet this message, but be warned: You may be next to be banned. And, we don’t know how long the post will last before Twitter blocks it.

The effort to support The Daily Citizen was started by Family Policy Alliance (FPA), an organization working on behalf of policies that promote life, family, marriage and freedom. The organization, now autonomous, was started by Focus on the Family in 2004 as Focus on the Family Action.

The groups wanted to support The Daily Citizen as we write about issues from a Christian perspective and offer resources and guidance for families to take action on key culture and policy topics.

As we recently reported, and as Focus on the Family President Jim Daly blogged, Twitter locked The Daily Citizen out of its account, for allegedly violating its rules against “hateful conduct.” Here’s the post that Twitter didn’t like:

The Daily Citizen's tweet

This Daily Citizen tweet linked to an article, which mainly questioned Levine’s suitability for the job because of previous actions as the Secretary of Health in Pennsylvania. Twitter censors alleged that our factual post, stating that a “transgender woman” is a man who believes he is a woman, somehow promoted violence against, threatened or harassed other people.

The truth is, Twitter is blocking The Daily Citizen because of our deeply held religious beliefs – which is against their own discrimination rules. We believe God created two types of humans – male and female – not a multitude of “genders.”

But it’s not just our faith. It appears that Twitter is a science denier: Science affirms the reality that humans are sexually dimorphic, and that drugs, hormones and surgeries don’t change someone into the opposite sex.

We’re not the only ones being censored for believing there are two sexes, as we also reported. Amazon, Twitter, GoFundMe and Facebook have also bought into the unscientific belief that a biological male can become a woman – and that a biological female can become a man – just because that’s who they think they are.

FPA, along with other organizations posting the Twitter message, have said that they appreciate Twitter’s creation of a platform for dialogue and spreading the word about important issues quickly. At the same time, they are deeply concerned about the social media giant’s banning of so many Christian and conservative individuals and groups.

But they also know that any of them could be banned from Twitter for posting a biblical perspective on life, marriage, family or sexuality. So they’re putting themselves on the line, asking the question: #AreWeNext?

Take action:

Join the Twitter campaign – tweet or retweet the message from FPA.
