Planned Parenthood has long been a deep concern for those of the pro-life perspective, especially when it comes to the services offered and its growing emphasis on abortion. Recently, claims have been made that the abortion giant “saves lives” through its prenatal care services.

The facts, however, say otherwise.

According to Planned Parenthood’s own annual report in 2020, only 8,626 women received prenatal care at its clinics. That’s compared to 354,871 abortions it performed in the same time period.

Prenatal care for the abortion business peaked in 2009, the same year that Obamacare went into effect, with the business seeing approximately 40,489 clients. That’s a 79% decrease in just 10 years.

Even before that, prenatal care wasn’t something that Planned Parenthood spent much time or effort on. In 1991, the business reported that it only saw 7,304 prenatal clients. That number climbed for the next couple of years before stabilizing.

It’s about taking them.

Between 1991 and 2020, there has been a 168.2% increase in the number of abortions performed at Planned Parenthood. When added all together, that’s 7,322,364 preborn lives that have ended at the hands of the nation’s largest abortion business.

How Planned Parenthood is supposedly saving lives when over seven million souls are not here due to their efforts is unclear.

Not only have the number of abortions increased, but it’s also working towards a complete monopoly of the abortion industry. In 1991, Planned Parenthood was responsible for only 10% of the nation’s abortions. That number has now jumped to roughly 41%, and no doubt it will keep growing.

Recently, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made remarks claiming that she is a “Planned Parenthood baby” during a House Oversight and Reform Committee.

“If we want to talk about Planned Parenthood, let’s talk about how many lives Planned Parenthood has saved and how many babies have been because of the prenatal care provided by Planned Parenthood,” she stated.

“If you don’t believe it, and if you’ve never met a Planned Parenthood baby, I’m happy to let you know that I am one and that my mother received and relied on prenatal care from Planned Parenthood when she was pregnant with me.”

While that might be true in her estimation, but that’s not an accurate message to send to the rest of the country.

Planned Parenthood isn’t in the life-saving business, it’s in the life-ending business. Day in and day out, it encourages and coerces women into having abortions.
