Gays Against Groomers Decry NYC “Pride” March: “SICKENING”

Pride month may be coming to a close this week, but not before New York City hosted two particularly depraved events this past weekend.

The “NYC Drag March” in Manhattan’s Tompkins Square Park on Friday featured hundreds of individuals, many of whom were in various degrees of undress. Their chants included all kinds of vile references, but one stood out from the rest.

“We’re here! We’re queer! We’re coming for your children!” they shouted.

While some claim the chant was meant as a joke, we can’t help being reminded of the old adage:

“Many a truth is spoken in jest.”

There is ample evidence proving that participants weren’t and aren’t joking – and that the movement is, indeed, determined to capture the hearts and minds of innocent children. After all, why else does indoctrination begin well before even kindergarten and permeate seemingly every corner of culture? Activists are determined to normalize the abnormal.

Focus on the Family has been warning against this very trend for decades. Critics of the ministry, including some who have claimed the Christian faith, have accused the organization and its leadership of hyperbole or even outright lies. Time has proven our concerns to be prescient.

But one of the more unorthodox groups that takes the mantra seriously is “Gays Against Groomers,” a nonprofit organization that was formed last year to combat abuse of children. To be sure, gay activists, some unknowingly, have nevertheless contributed to this moral freefall. But as confused as they may be on so many things, they are rightly concerned about this war on children.

After seeing highlights from the Friday rally in Tompkins Square Park, the organization tweeted the following:

“And these people seriously wonder why society is turning against us?! SICKENING. These people are doing more harm to our community than any actual bigot could ever hope to.”

When a group otherwise sympathetic to homosexual causes criticizes a rally on their side, you can be sure cracks in the foundation are beginning to manifest.

It is sickening to expose children to this abusive propaganda.

It is sickening to support body mutilation and encourage the distribution of puberty-blocking drugs.

It is sickening – and it’s also evil.

Yet another “Pride” rally on Saturday featured more nudity, perversion, and extreme dysfunction. Select media outlets have shared graphic examples of what was going on there, but not wanting to flood your mind with wickedness, we won’t even describe the full awfulness of the spectacle.

In the interest of evangelism and maybe goodwill, some Christians are reluctant to call out the abuse and perversion. They may not agree or condone it, but they refuse to condemn it out of concern they’ll hurt their witness and drive lost people further away from Christ.

However well-intentioned, this apathy or neutrality is unbiblical. “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them,” wrote Paul (Eph. 5:11). Then there was James, who said, “Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God” (4:4).

To be loving is to be concerned about someone’s well-being and eternal destination. It’s tough to say the difficult things. Of course we are to be thoughtful and considerate – but some things just need to be said.

Exposing and abusing children is sickening – and we should be sure that groups like “Gays Against Groomers” aren’t the only ones willing to say it.
