It has been well documented that medical procedures being done on young people who are supposedly suffering from gender dysphoria or being “transgender” are fundamentally experimental and the important long-term negative consequences are becoming known.

This conclusion received significant affirmation by one of the field’s most celebrated practitioners recently in a video conference hosted by Duke University with a handful of leading medical professionals. One of these participants was Dr. Marci Bowers, a groundbreaking clinician who infamously operated on the teen trans reality-television sensation Jazz Jennings. Bowers currently serves as the President of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), a leading trans advocacy organization.

Speaking to six other colleagues, Dr. Bowers explained that children who undergo these surgeries are shown to have lost important sexual functioning as they grow,

The second was an observation that I had that every single child … or adolescent, who is truly blocked [of hormones during ages 9-11] has never experienced orgasm. I mean, it’s really about zero.

She is speaking here of young males who have intentionally never been exposed to testosterone in order to halt their natural masculine development. We are constantly told that hormone blockers are merely a temporary phase and can be fully reversed if desired. Nothing to be concerned about. But this leading doctor is admitting just the opposite, and dramatically so.

And what is even more dramatic is none of her colleagues on the video conference expressed any shock or concern at this dramatic admission. One member of the call merely raises his eyebrows at this news. The rest express no reaction at all.

Dr. Bowers admits to the group this fact “raised the red flag for me” because “being able to be intimate with a partner is very important.”

In commenting on this, Bowers makes another profound statement, “All the penis is just a large clitoris. It’s all the same material, it really is.” This is a celebrated medical doctor saying something that would get any 10th grade biology student a failing grade. But such is the case when medicine collides with gender theory. Ideology trumps reason and facts and biology get neutered.

The clip ends with Dr. Bowers wondering how she and her colleagues might be able to perform these experimental procedures driven purely by gender ideology without these profound negative consequences experienced by every single patient. It really is a stunning admission.

But this is not the only such admission of the fundamentally experimental nature of these trans procedures on young people. Dr. Bowers told Abigail Shrier, the author of Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters, in 2021 that she has been having doubts about the wisdom of puberty blockers for adolescents, explaining, “I think there was naivete on the part of pediatric endocrinologists who were proponents of early [puberty] blockade thinking that just this magic can happen, that surgeons can do anything.” But she realizes this is not the case and admitting so.

Bowers also showed concern about the strong ideological capture of her industry and how that has blocked a more sober and humble approach to performing new and untested procedures on innocent children. Bowers told Shrier, “There are definitely people who are trying to keep out anyone who doesn’t absolutely buy the party line that everything should be affirming, and that there’s no room for dissent,” adding “I think that’s a mistake.”

These are just a few of the reasons why parents who resist having their children undergo these largely experimental gender procedures are not transphobes at all, but actually responsible and compassionate adults who should be supported, not demeaned.
