President Trump: Iran Appears to be Standing Down

In an address to the nation Wednesday morning, President Trump spoke from the grand foyer of the White House to update the American people on last night’s missile attacks in the Middle East. Iran fired over a dozen ballistic missiles from within its own borders striking two U.S. military bases in Iraq. Thankfully, there were no American or Iraqi casualties.
As long as I am President of the United States, Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon,” the President began.
Continuing, President Trump stated, “Iran appears to be standing down, which is a good thing for all parties concerned and a very good thing for the world. No American or Iraqi lives were lost because of the precautions taken, the dispersal of forces and an early warning system that worked very well. I salute the incredible skill and incredible courage of America’s men and women in uniform.”
The Iranian aggression comes just days after President Trump ordered the U.S. military to eliminate Iranian General Qasem Soleimani who was responsible for 603 American deaths during the Iraq War.
As a result of the attack, President Trump announced that the United States would be imposing additional sanctions on Iran while working with NATO allies to increase pressure on the rogue regime.
Let’s continue to pray for wisdom for our military and political leaders, and that peace would prevail around the world.
