Students for Life Releases List of Christian Colleges with Connections to Planned Parenthood
In a new report, Students for Life of America (SFLA), a pro-life organization dedicated to supporting students in college and high school campuses across the country, has released a list of Christian colleges that are supporting Planned Parenthood. A couple of schools have already changed policies in response to the report.
Per the SFLA press release, “Planned Parenthood’s quiet relationships with faith-based schools flies under the radar of many engaged at colleges and universities. Schools partner with Planned Parenthood by listing them as a student resource, publicizing internships and careers with the abortion giant, and more.”
Some of this includes:
- “Advertising Planned Parenthood internships and career postings;
- “Referring students to Planned Parenthood as a resource;
- “Incorporating Planned Parenthood into medical school rotations;
- “Hosting events for students with the abortion giant.”
“There is an unholy partnership between a number of Christian schools and the abortion industry,” Kristan Hawkins, President of SFLA, said. “We want to equip pro-life advocates to take action and encourage schools to disentangle themselves from Big Abortion. It is crucial that colleges and universities that claim an affiliation with the Christian faith and Biblical values do not contradict those values by partnering with or promoting perpetrators of abortion violence.”
In the official press release, the list included a variety of colleges with connections in the Catholic, Methodist, Lutheran, Presbyterian and other various denominations. Some of those 23 mentioned include American University, California Lutheran University, Fordham University, Emory University, New Brunswick Theological Seminary, Roanoke College, Southwestern University, Trinity Washington University, University of Indianapolis, University of Lynchburg and others.
Messiah College and St. Francis University, both located in Pennsylvania, have now removed or distanced themselves from Planned Parenthood after the SFLA report.
According to its website, “Students for Life of America exists to recruit, train and mobilize the pro-life generation to abolish abortion.”
Standing for life is important, and it’s encouraging to see so many young people embracing life.
