Who Are the Groups Fighting to Mutilate Children and Keep Boys in Girls Sports?
Most adult Americans oppose mutilating and sterilizing children who struggle with sexual identity confusion, and they also know it’s wrong to allow boys and men to invade girls and women’s sports, showers, locker rooms and restrooms.
But a well-funded, extremist coalition of groups – including LGBT activists, pro-abortionists, teachers unions, leftist legal groups and environmentalists – support harming children and denying girls equal opportunities.
This coalition has raised millions to defeat ballot measures that would protect children in Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri and Washington.
Much of their funding, in turn, comes from radical left “dark money” groups.
Let’s take a look at the activist groups in Colorado working to harm children, and then we’ll look at a similar pattern in other states.
Families Not Politics is an issues committee that opposes the three Colorado ballot measures that safeguard children, Propositions 133, 134 and 135.
The Rocky Mountain Voice (RMV) reported about Families Not Politics in May:
It said it existed to protect families. Within three months it had raised nearly $320,000. None of it came from Colorado parents’ organizations while calling itself a “grassroots group.”
Instead, as RMV explained, 90% of that startup money came from four groups that promote abortion and LGBT issues: Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains; Cobalt Advocates (formerly NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado); an LGBT and abortion PAC from Oregon; and the LGBT activist group One Colorado.
The latter organization runs Gender and Sexuality Alliances, school clubs that indoctrinate children into homosexual and transgender ideology, so it has a vested interest in sexualizing and confusing them.
Since May, as RMV recently documented:
Families Not Politics has raised $2,860,198.42 and received non-monetary contributions valued at $346,261.38, for a total value of $3,206,460. …
Eighty-eight percent of that financial support, or $2,816,897, has come from 11 high-dollar funders.
Ballotpedia lists the top donors behind Families Not Politics, which include:
• Radical LGBT activist groups: One Colorado/One Colorado Education Fund and Advocates for Trans Equality.
• Pro-abortion individuals and organizations: Rocky Mountain Planned Parenthood, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Color Action Fund, COLOR Latina, Merle Chambers and Cobalt Advocates.
• Leftist legal groups: American Civil Liberties Union, American Civil Liberties Union Foundation, Inc. and American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado.
• Environmentalist/Climate change groups: Conservation Colorado, Conservation Colorado Education Fund and Green Advocacy Project.
It’s understandable that pro-abortion groups are part of this list, as they already harm infants, and they make money providing puberty blockers and hormones to sexually-confused people.
But it’s a little puzzling that climate-change groups support this. Perhaps the commonality is that extremist environmentalists, transgender activists and leftists try to silence their opponents and sometimes resort to violent, destructive tactics.
In turn, these groups are funded by leftist “dark money” groups, such as Colorado Democracy Alliance (CoDA), as RMV reported:
CoDA’s own tax filings show it funding the organizations now behind Families Not Politics. …
Five of the 11 donor organizations financially supporting Families Not Politics are connected with the Democracy Alliance network.
RMV added that other dark money groups support these organizations, “including Open Society Foundations (Soros Family), the Tides nexus, and the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation.”
Similar coalitions of extremists, often funded by dark money, are battling in other states to damage children’s bodies and keep boys in girls sports.
Arizonans will vote Tuesday on Proposition 318, the “Protect Girls Sports in Arizona Act.” The measure prohibits males from playing in school or athletic association teams designated for girls or women, and it requires schools and athletic associations to only allow individuals to use athletes’ showers, locker rooms and restrooms that align with their biological sex.
Opponents have raised almost $900,000 to oppose the measure. A similar coalition of “progressive” groups and pro-abortion individuals is funding an organization called Will of the People. But this time around, they’re joined by unions, including the Arizona Education Association.
Missouri voters will decide whether to repeal a constitutional amendment approved in 2024 that created a “right” to abortion, restore protections for preborn babies and protect kids from “transgender” procedures.
Because Amendment 3 also protects preborn life, abortion, pro-abortion groups are pouring millions into the campaign The money gap is enormous. Through mid-October abortion activists like Planned Parenthood have raised over $27 million. Pro-life advocates have raised about $8.6 million, according to Ballotpedia.
ACLU and other leftist groups like The Fairness Project and George Soros’ Open Society Policy Center are also investing in harming preborn infants and sexually-confused children.
Washington has two ballot measures affecting children and families: Initiative 26-638 would protect fairness in girls sports, and Initiative 26-001 protects parental rights in education.
Ballotpedia reports that multimillionaire Brian Heywood has poured $2.25 million into these two initiatives, joined by other Washington business leaders for a total of almost $8 million.
Opposing parental rights and girls-only sports are a collection of unions, including SEIU 775 Ballot Fund, SEIU Initiative Fund, Washington Education Association and National Education Association. They’ve raised almost $4 million to fight the ballot measures.
Finally, Nebraskans will consider Initiative Measure 442, the Nebraska Sex Requirement for School and College Sports Amendment, also known as “Fairness for Girls.”
The conservative group Restore the Good Life, Inc., has raised $3.25 million to support girls-only sports and private spaces. The amendment is opposed by the group Fairness for All, which is funded by the ACLU of Nebraska, Rainbow Parents of Nebraska, the queer and transgender group OutNebraska, and, oddly, the Women’s Fund of Omaha.
