Police are investigating reports that a 12-year-old boy was assaulted by a woman in Boulder, Colorado for a pro-President Donald Trump yard sign.
Reports say that the young boy was riding his bike outside when a woman passed by him on a moped. After seeing the pro-Trump sign, she stopped, turned around and then assaulted the young boy.
“The suspect made a U-turn and approached the victim and began assaulting him because of his political banner. The suspect then attempted to take the banner but was unsuccessful,” investigators said according to CBS4.
The Denver Post added that according to police spokeswoman Shannon Aulabaugh, the woman drove up to the boy and said something like “you want something to look at?” She then struck him four to five times “in the back of the head and arms” with her clenched fist, and also scratched him.
“I’m feeling disappointed,” the boy, who has requested that his identity not be disclosed, told reporters. “I’m disappointed [by] the people right now. I mean they’re willing to attack anybody just because of their political views.”
CBS4 also reported that the woman was described as a “white female” who was around 20 or 30 years old. She was “wearing a tan jacket, blue shirt, and blue jeans. The moped was blue or grey.”
The assault is still under investigation by the Boulder Police Department and no arrests have yet been made.
This assault falls on the heels of another politically-motivated assault which happened in Portland, Oregon on Saturday, August 29.
Aaron Danielson took part in a pro-Trump rally with the right-leaning group, Patriot Prayer. While he was walking down the streets of Portland, a member of the far-left, anarchist, fascist group Antifa came up to Danielson and shot him at point blank range because of a Patriot Prayer hat and a Blue Lives Matter shirt that he was wearing.
