A recent headline from NBC News read, “For transgender men, pain of menstruation is more than just physical.” The story decried the physical and emotional pain that transgender men, i.e., biological women who think they’re men, suffer.

The piece is devious in that it casts biology to the side in favor of politically correct, trans normative, language. Just the first paragraph displays the craziness of the article. Remember, the activist being discussed is a biological female.

“When transgender model and activist Kenny Ethan Jones experienced his first period, he faced both physical and psychological pain. Initially, Jones, who had not yet come out as trans at the time, felt like he was losing control and didn’t understand what was happening to his body. However, one thing was clear: He didn’t feel like himself,” NBC News reports.

The article goes on to quote Jones as saying, “I didn’t believe that having periods would be a part of my lived experience. I felt isolated; everything about periods was tailored to girls, yet me, a boy, was experiencing this and nothing in the world documented that.”

Of course, Jones, a biological female, should expect periods to be a part of her “lived experience.”

It seems NBC News was excited to push this story, evidenced by its Twitter account sharing the story at least six times within the span of 18 hours.

Now, remember when the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) indulged the lie that men can menstruate? On International Men’s Day, November 19, 2019, the ACLU put out two tweets undermining the entire point of the day.

The first tweet repeated “TRANS MEN ARE MEN” 13 times. The second one said, “There’s no one way to be a man. Men who get their periods are men. Men who get pregnant and give birth are men. Trans and non-binary men belong.”

Of course, if “men” means something other than biological males, then that tweet has no meaning. If “men” really means “women,” then what is a man in the first place?

It’s intriguing that those on the Left simultaneously want to advance “women’s rights,” while also claiming men can be women and women can be men.

For example, last week actress Michelle Williams used her acceptance speech at the Golden Globes to tout a “woman’s right to choose.” But if men can menstruate, as NBC News apparently thinks, what does it mean to be a woman? What are women’s rights? If the term men and woman do not correspond to biological categories, how can women, or men, have specific rights?

Of course, corporate America has jumped on this politically correct bandwagon, including the feminine-hygiene product company, Always.

Last year, the company removed the women’s symbol from their packaging after complaints from transgender consumers. As reported by the Daily Wire, a feminist activist responded to this by saying that the transgender movement is harming women’s rights. “Removing the female symbol from sanitary towel packaging is basically denying the existence of women. We’re moving towards to total elimination of women’s biology,” this feminist said.

And previously, The Daily Citizen reported on James Shupe who was the first legally “non-binary” American. After making history and becoming a hero to transgender activists, Shupe realized gender ideology was all a lie, and has now begun living again as his biologically male sex. Shupe said that the cross-sex hormones he was prescribed caused numerous medical problems including blood clots, bone issues and kidney disease.

Those dealing with gender dysphoria deserve compassionate care, and acknowledgement of the mental issues they are struggling with. Yet it’s not compassionate to affirm that biological women shouldn’t be having periods, when in reality they should. Chalking it up to a problem with their body, when the problem is in their mind, is harmful and dangerous.
