CNN’s notorious, left-wing so-called “journalist” Jim Acosta is back at it again calling Trump supporters and conservative news outlets an “existential threat to this country.”

Appearing on CNN’s ironically named “Reliable Sources” with anchor Brian Stelter, he asked Acosta whether he thought “this quiet period is temporary,” referring to former President Donald Trump’s permanent suspension from Twitter.

“I think it is temporary. I do think what this country faces right now, and I described it as the disinformation industrial complex, and this is, you know, Trump and his people, conservative outlets like Fox News, and then conservative websites and organizations aligned with the president and conservative platforms,” Acosta responded.

“These three pillars of this disinformation industrial complex essentially helped put Trump in power, kept him in power, sustained his grip on the Republican party, and it remains a threat to our democracy…

“Until that poison, that toxin is drained from the national political discourse in this country, Brian, I do think that these forces represent a potential existential threat to this country and have the potential to come back and cause more suffering in the days to come,” Acosta added.

Stelter then pivoted to a graphic displaying a “final count of Trump’s false and misleading statements” according to The Washington Post’s so-called fact-checker. The final tally was allegedly 30,573.

Yet, The Post recently told The Daily Caller that it does “not have plans to launch a Biden database (of false and misleading statements) at this time.”

Apparently, according to the left-wing media, Democrats are the only politicians who are completely honest. Or more likely, media outlets are run by Democrats who have no desire to fact check those in their own party.

It is statements like those from Acosta, and the double standard applied by The Washington Post that has millions of Americans completely losing their trust in the media.

According to Edelman’s annual trust barometer, American’s trust in “traditional media” has hit an all-time low in 2021. Fewer than half of Americans trust the media for the first time in history.

The percentage of Americans who trust traditional media sources fell by a whopping 10% between 2020 and 2021, plummeting from 56% to 46% in just one year.

Axios reports that “56% of Americans agree with the statement that ‘journalists and reporters are purposely trying to mislead people by saying things they know are false or gross exaggerations’ while “58% think that ‘most news organizations are more concerned with supporting an ideology or political position than with informing the public.’”

Unsurprisingly, Democrats trust the media far more than Republicans. Whereas 57% of Democrats trust the media, only 18% of Republicans do so.

With “journalists” like Jim Acosta, and blatant double standards from The Washington Post, it is not hard to see why.
