Making use of inspiring happy talk about equality and duplicitous language about the safety of our children in school, our new President Joseph Biden, announced himself America’s greatest and most powerful trans activist. He did this in is first hours in office, effectively erasing the essential sanctity of girls’ and women’s spaces in federal policy. He did this right after famously declaring in his inaugural address that he wants to be the president who can bring “unity” to our divisive nation.

Biden’s executive order would allow any boy or man to use any girl or woman’s space by simply declaring himself a girl or a woman. Full stop. And all in the name of trans activism. The most powerful trans-rights organization in the nation, the Human Rights Campaign, praised Biden’s executive order as “the most substantive, wide-ranging executive order concerning sexual orientation and gender identity ever issued by a United States President.”

The language he used to defend this, on its face, seems wholly reasonable and praiseworthy at first blush. The Biden executive order asserts, “Children should be able to learn without worrying about whether they will be denied access to the restroom, the locker room, or school sports.” Of course they should. Who can disagree? And President Biden continues,

Adults should be able to earn a living and pursue a vocation knowing that they will not be fired, demoted, or mistreated because of whom they go home to or because how they dress does not conform to sex-based stereotypes.  People should be able to access healthcare and secure a roof over their heads without being subjected to sex discrimination.  All persons should receive equal treatment under the law, no matter their gender identity or sexual orientation.

Most Americans certainly agree with these sentiments. But what President Biden is requiring in his “Executive Order on Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation” is actually an extremely radical and anti-scientific redefinition of what it means to be human as male or female that should outrage all parents.

Relying on the incredibly problematic Bostock v. Clayton County Supreme Court decision, the Biden administration is requiring any public facility or institution that receives federal funds to allow any boy who claims to be a girl and any man who believes he is a women full and equal access to any and all female-only spaces. This includes school bathrooms, gym changing rooms, sports teams, and housing in dorms and such. It would also require providing and performing medical procedures to help individuals change their sex and gender. Celebrated gay writer Andrew Sullivan explained this fact clearly in his commentary critical of Biden’s first actions as President.

He takes the view that the law should go further and insist that trans women are absolutely indistinguishable from biological women — which erases any means of enforcing laws that defend biological women as a class. If your sex is merely what you say it is, without any reference to biological reality, then it is no longer sex at all. It’s gender, period. It’s socially constructed all the way down.

Make no mistake. Our nation’s new leader has essentially erased the exclusivity of female spaces for all girls and women. And all a male need do to gain access to women’s spaces is claim that he is a female. His sincerely declared insistence is the primary determinant of the claim’s legitimacy. He does not need to dress like a female, officially change his name, or have had any surgery whatsoever. To require any of this would be to enforce upon him someone else’s view of what a woman is. He can just make the claim that he is a girl or a woman, appear sincere in the claim and our new President Biden says his office, administration and the federal government itself will fully protect that claim over and against the safety and emotional needs of the actual women who must now yield their safe spaces to him.

For all its nice language about inclusion and protection, this is precisely what this new executive order does and with it, President Joseph Biden has declared that the transgender movement’s most powerful activist now resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave for the next four years.
