Chiefs’ Kicker Harrison Butker’s Pro-Life Message to the White House: Protect Preborn Life
On Monday, Kansas City Chiefs’ kicker Harrison Butker joined his teammates for a trip to the White House. The team was honored by the president for their victory in Super Bowl VLII, where the Chiefs won a 38-35 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Butker, a faithful Catholic, chose to seize his opportunity at the White House to advocate for the most vulnerable: preborn children.
He wore a tie that had the phrase “Vulnerari Praesidio” written in cursive all over it. The words are a Latin phrase that translates to “Protect the most vulnerable.”
According to the Daily Signal, the pro-life organization Live Action designed the tie for Butker specifically for his visit to the White House.
Butker “also wore a gold pin replicating the size of a 10-week-old aborted baby’s feet, intended to draw awareness to the many thousands of unborn babies killed through abortion every year.”
Though Live Action custom-made the tie just for Butker, the organization is selling a replica of the “Precious Feet Pin” that he wore. Live Action says that the pin “is the exact size and shape of a 10-week-old preborn baby’s feet.”

In a statement following the visit, Butker said that he wanted to use the opportunity to send a powerful message to “the most pro-abortion administration in our nation’s history” and to the world.
“I want to give the most vulnerable, the unborn, a voice at a place where every effort has been made to allow and normalize the tragic termination of their lives,” Butker said.
He added:
As a father who has experienced three miscarriages, my wife and I understand the hardships that come with losing a child. Every life is precious and should be valued whether outside or inside the womb.
Lila Rose, Founder and President of Live Action also issued a statement saying that her organization was glad to partner with Butker. She said:
President Biden is a professing Catholic who, as the most powerful man in the world, is responsible for leading the most pro-abortion administration in our history that has overseen a horrific death toll of 2,548 children every day lost to abortion. I call on President Biden to reject the extremism of the abortion lobby and to protect the vulnerable children of his nation.
It’s truly heartening to see Butker’s willingness to use the platform God has given him to advocate for preborn children.
If our nation is to continue to turn the tide on the abortion issue, to protect women and vulnerable children, we’ll need many more courageous and godly men like Harrison Butker, who are willing to do what is right – not what is easy.
In the face of unspeakable evil – the killing of hundreds of thousands of innocent preborn children every year – we need men. Real men. Men who protect and provide for those they are responsible for – the women they marry and the children they create.
Study after study has found that when a couple becomes pregnant, women are most likely to discuss their decision to terminate with the father of the baby. And the father was often cited as the person who has the greatest influence on her decision, “far outweighing the influence of medical professionals and the woman’s mother.”
When it comes to abortion, the radical left tells men that abortion is a “women’s issue.”
That is a lie.
It takes two to make a baby, and men should be just as responsible for raising any child they create as their partner is.
We need more courageous men. Not less.
We need more male advocates for life. Not less.
We need more masculinity. Not less.
And we need more Harrison Butkers, who are willing to stand up and speak out to protect preborn life.
