Cooper Kupp, professional football player and wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, recently signed a three-year contract extension worth $80 million.

The contract was described as “record-breaking,” due to $75 million of the contract being guaranteed, “which is more guaranteed money than any NFL wide receiver has ever been given.”

Kupp is almost universally recognized as one of the best wide receivers in the nation and is also well known for his outspoken Christian faith.

Earlier this year, Kupp gave a stellar performance at Super Bowl LVI helping the Rams to a 23-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, for which he was named the game’s MVP.

Following his contract extension, in a statement posted to Twitter, Kupp thanked the Los Angeles Rams organization, his representatives, his coaches and teammates, as well as his family.

“Anna, June, Cypress. Thank you for your willingness to allow me to play the game I love to the utmost. More than anyone else you understand the sacrifices to compete at the highest level, and you choose to join me in it as well,” he wrote.

“I am so thankful to share in that with the people I love most.”

Kupp also gave thanks to God for his continued success.

“God is good. On the mountains and in the valleys, He has been with us every step of the way. While we have been afforded the privilege to play such an amazing game, it is with humility we know each moment here is intentional, albeit temporary.

“We pray each day to be a light in this world, filled and guided by His spirit, and to make the most of every day according to His will. For His Glory!”

Congratulations, Cooper!

Keep up the good work and keep playing “for His glory.”
