Medical Associations Ask DOJ to Prosecute Journalists who Disagree With Gender Ideology
Three major medical associations are asking the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate and prosecute journalists who disagree with radical gender transition procedures for minors.
On October 3, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, and the Children’s Hospital Association sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, asking him to “investigate the organization individuals, and entities coordinating, provoking, and carrying out bomb threats and threats of personal violence against children’s hospitals and physicians across the U.S.”
If that was all the associations were asking the DOJ to investigate, it wouldn’t be problematic. We can all agree that bomb threats and personal violence against hospitals and physicians are immoral and wrong.
But the letter didn’t end there. It went on to say that hospitals and physicians are being targeted in Boston, Akron, Nashville and Seattle, for “providing evidence-based health care,” which is code for so-called gender transition procedures including puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and “sex-change” procedures.
Then, the most problematic part:
The attacks are rooted in an intentional campaign of disinformation, where a few high-profile users on social media share false and misleading information targeting individual physicians and hospitals, resulting in a rapid escalation of threats, harassment, and disruption of care across multiple jurisdictions. Our organizations have called our technology companies to do more to prevent this practice on digital platforms, and we now urge your office to take swift action to investigate and prosecute all organizations, individuals, and entities responsible.
The letter references “a few high-profile users on social media,” after earlier citing events in Nashville, Tennessee.
This is a reference to the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh, who a few weeks ago exposed Vanderbilt University’s Transgender Health Clinic, which “drugs, chemically castrates, and performs double mastectomies on minors.”
Walsh’s reporting was shocking and horrifying – but factually true and correct. It’s this kind of information that the medical associations don’t want publicized.
In short, here you have three major medical associations asking the DOJ to investigate and prosecute journalists for reporting factual and true information on physicians and hospitals that provide harmful and damaging “sex change” procedures on young children.
The associations label this “disinformation,” and those who share it should be investigated and prosecuted.
This is appalling and terrifying. The weaponization and utilization of government law enforcement agencies against conservatives, journalists, and Christians rings of authoritarian regimes – think China, North Korea or Iran, not the United States of America.
But sadly, this gross abuse of law enforcement is not without precedent.
Only last week, the Daily Citizen reported on an FBI swat team that swarmed a pro-life father’s home in the early dawn with guns drawn, all because of a year-old minor scuffle with a pro-abortion bully.
Just last year, the Department of Justice asked the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) to investigate concerned parents speaking out at school board meetings for “domestic terrorism and hate crimes.”
Think back to the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS’) targeting scandal where it systematically targeted conservative groups to take away their tax-exempt status.
And what about the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane counterintelligence investigation of former President Donald Trump, both as a candidate and then as president. Or how about when top FBI agent Timothy Thibault attempted to thwart a criminal investigation into Hunter Biden in the midst of the 2020 election.
Clearly, many of our most important government agencies, including the IRS, DOJ and FBI have shown a tendency to go rogue.
The DOJ should refuse the medical associations’ requests to investigate and prosecute journalists who disagree with gender ideology. Otherwise, the DOJ will add to the list of a long train of abuses by government agencies targeting Christians and conservatives, who always seem to get the short end of the stick.
