 The U.S. House of Representatives is preparing to vote on House Resolution 5 (H.R. 5), the so-called “Equality Act,” a measure that will have disastrous consequences for women, children, people of faith – indeed, all Americans.

H.R. 5 adds “sexual orientation and gender identity” (SOGI) to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and to many other federal non-discrimination laws.

The bill also redefines “sex” in those federal laws so that it no longer means the biological reality of being “male or female.” Instead, “sex” would include subjective categories such as sex stereotypes, sexual orientation and gender identity.
