Join the Nationwide Prayer Call for the 2024 Election
The 2024 general election is now just one week away!
Millions of voters are already going to the polls to elect the 47th president of the United States, 34 U.S. Senators, all 435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives, and many state and local officials.
Additionally, voters in 10 states will decide whether their state constitutions should be amended to protect the “right” to abortion. Other important ballot measures, from the definition of marriage to the legalization of recreational marijuana, may be on your ballot as well.
Christians have an important responsibility and privilege to get engaged in politics by becoming informed on the issues, voting and praying to God for our nation.
In that vein, Family Policy Alliance and Christians Engaged are hosting a virtual Nationwide Prayer Call on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 6-7:00 p.m. CT, inviting Christians to pray together for our national elections.
In an invitation for believers to join the call, the organization says,
Several prominent guests will join the call to pray, including,
- Dr. Jack Graham, Senior Pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church
- Kelly Shackelford, CEO of First Liberty Institute
- Dr. Michael Brown, author & radio show host of The Line of Fire.
- The Honorable Jody Hice, former congressman & president of Family Research Council Action
- Craig DeRoche, CEO of Family Policy Alliance & Christians Engaged
- Bunni Pounds, President & Founder of Christians Engaged
- Jenny Donnelly, Founder of Her Voice MVMT & #dontmesswithourkids
- Pastor Ryan Binkley, Senior Pastor of Create Church
- Ben Quine, Vice President of Christians Engaged
- Stephanie Smith, President of Alabama Policy Institute
- Nathan Winters, President of Wyoming Family Alliance
Christians especially should pray for the direction our country is heading, in addition to voting and becoming informed on the issues of the day.
Our nation has a great and long history of turning our eyes to the Lord during times of trouble, asking for his help and guidance.
On October 3, 1863, amidst the Civil War, former President Abraham Lincoln issued his Thanksgiving Day Proclamation, imploring the people of our nation to pray, writing,
According to recent polls, our country is in deep need of prayer.
Gallup reports a measly 22% of Americans are satisfied with the way our country is going, with 75% of Americans saying they are dissatisfied with the direction of our country.
There are an estimated 32 million self-identified Christians who regularly attend church, but are unlikely to vote in the upcoming presidential election.
If more Christians got engaged by praying and voting to protect life, religious liberty, educational freedom, parental rights and free speech, they could easily change the course of our nation.
In 1 Timothy 2:1-2, the Apostle Paul exhorted,
“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior” (ESV).
