Kirk Cameron to Host ‘See You at the Library’ on Saturday for Americans to Pray, Sing and Read
Actor Kirk Cameron and BRAVE Books are hosting the first national “See You at the Library” event on August 5, 2023.
The event, which the book publisher describes as a “national movement for free speech,” will be held at hundreds of libraries nationwide.
Americans will join together to pray, sing and read BRAVE books at over 260 libraries in 44 states, BRAVE books told Fox News.
Here’s a brief promotional for the event:
The events come after actor Kirk Cameron hosted numerous “Story Hour” events to promote his two recently published children’s books, As You Grow and Pride Comes Before the Fall.
Here’s a link to all the scheduled “Story Hour” events nationwide.
“Conservatives and Christians have complained that they don’t have a seat at the cultural table,” Cameron said earlier this week. “Well, we have a seat now.”
Cameron will host three of the events, while Pinal County, Arizona, Sheriff Mark Lamb, podcaster and author David Harris Jr., women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines and former mobster Michael Franzese are also scheduled to appear at some of the events.
In a recent development, Madison Public Library in Huntsville, Alabama cancelled their scheduled story hour event over “security concerns” and “concerns over capacity.”
The religious freedom defense organization First Liberty sent a letter to the library, informing them that cancelling the event could be unconstitutional.
First Liberty lawyers wrote:
It may be just one event – just a story time at the local library by a Christian children’s book author – that you have cancelled. Large or small, such unbridled censorship impacts the freedom of speech upon which we all depend in this free society.
First Liberty requested that the library permit BRAVE Books and Cameron to utilize the library for the event on Saturday. It remains to be seen whether the library will respond. If they don’t, they’ll have the lawyers at First Liberty to deal with.
Will you be joining BRAVE Books and Kirk Cameron on Saturday?
