Planned Parenthood Opens New Abortion Clinic in Illinois Despite COVID-19 Pandemic

Planned Parenthood

There might be a global pandemic, but Planned Parenthood still has to make money. The business recently opened up a new abortion clinic in Illinois, just north of Chicago. This clinic, like the mega clinics that opened up last year, was built entirely in secret demonstrating the continuation of a disturbing trend.

According to Planned Parenthood of Illinois, building this new abortion clinic will help them meet the needs of patients. “Planned Parenthood of Illinois (PPIL) is building on its 100-year history of providing essential health care by announcing the opening of a new, state-of-the-art, conveniently located health center in Waukegan that will enhance access to needed health care.”

Jennifer Welch, President and CEO of PPIL said, “At PPIL, we believe ensuring access to high-quality health care is part of having a healthy community and our new Waukegan Health Center is a critical piece of that puzzle. The COVID-19 pandemic created a growing urgency for increased access to essential health care in the region. I’m proud that PPIL is able to open our doors to help area residents seeking high-quality sexual and reproductive health care.”

The clinic promises to help women with “contraception counseling and prescriptions, emergency contraception, medication abortion, cervical and breast cancer screening, urinary tract infection testing and treatment, sexually transmitted infection (STI) diagnosis and treatment, gender affirming hormone therapy, pregnancy options counseling and HIV prevention (including PrEP and nPEP).”

The ability of Planned Parenthood to offer “essential health care services” to the people of Waukegan is laughable.

Since 2009, Planned Parenthood as a whole has severely decreased life-saving cancer screenings, which include a variety of things like breast exams (not mammograms), LEEP procedures and other cervical cancer screenings. The only thing that’s increased is the number of abortions provided and STI testing and treatment.

The idea that Planned Parenthood provides any type of unplanned “pregnancy options counseling” is beyond ridiculous.

According to Abby Johnson and other former Planned Parenthood workers, counseling at the abortion business is based entirely around pressuring women to have an abortion. When a woman comes in and has a positive pregnancy test, it is the clinic worker’s job to make sure that the woman does not leave without either receiving the abortion pill or having an appointment for a surgical abortion. That’s what the business considers “counseling.”

When it comes to adoption referrals as part of that “counseling,” forget it. An “adoption referral” can be as simple as providing the woman with a pamphlet.

“I think the number that most gets on my nerves on Planned Parenthood’s (annual) report is the adoption referral number,” Abby Johnson said in an interview with The Daily Citizen. “I believe that they pull it from the sky.”

However, the most dangerous aspect of this whole abortion operation is the lack of physician oversight.

“I never saw a doctor in all my years (at Planned Parenthood) talk to a woman before or after her abortion. Not once,” Sue Thayer, who worked for the abortion business for 18 years, told The Daily Citizen.

“I worked at Planned Parenthood for eight years, our medical director never stepped foot in our facility,” Johnson said. “Most employees at the facilities are unlicensed health care assistants, they’re not even medical assistants. We did everything, the ultrasounds, the follow-ups and we handed out pills.”

If a hospital operated like Planned Parenthood, it would be shut down.

Unfortunately, the people of Waukegan, Illinois will now have to grapple with this substandard level of medical care as Planned Parenthood moves in.
