Riley Gaines to Nike: ‘Protect Girls, Just Do It!’
Pro-woman apparel company, XX-XY Athletics, of which Riley Gaines is a brand ambassador, has released a viral new video celebrating October 10 as Real Women’s Day and calling on Nike to stand up for women and girls in sports.
The powerful advertisement features ten girls of different ages asking Nike why it won’t stand up for them.
They go on to say: “Why do you claim to support women and girls, yet when we need you most, you remain silent?”
“Today, males are claiming our identity, our sports, our spaces. Men and boys are stealing opportunities, medals, trophies and our future. It is not fair or just. In fact, it’s awfully dangerous, yet you refuse to use your platform to stand up.”
“You say you’re for social justice and progress, so why do you allow men’s rights to come before ours?”
“See, with a big platform comes an even bigger responsibility. You have a chance to do the right thing, not just do the needy thing.”
“So we’re asking you Nike, as the biggest voice in all of sports, will you stand up for me?”
“Will you just do it?”
Riley Gaines shared the viral video on X and wrote, “It’s not hard to stand up for women and girls, so why won’t @Nike just do it?”

The compelling video was intentionally released on October 10, or XX Day, which represents a female’s chromosomes.
Riley Gaines launched the Real Women’s Day campaign on October 10 last year.
Supporters are encouraged to wear red to celebrate real women.
Today, let’s remember to celebrate the real women in our lives.
And even better, let’s stand up for them today and every day!
