Planned Parenthood Offers ‘Sexual Health Resources’ for All, Aided by Sacramento Libraries

Sacramento Public Library is partnering with Planned Parenthood Mar Monte to offer free “sexual health resources,” including contraceptives and graphic sexual education materials, to patrons of all ages.

The California Family Council (CFC), a Focus on the Family-allied organization, explained, saying,

In a move that sidesteps parental rights and raises serious concerns about the sexualization of children, the Sacramento Public Library has partnered with Planned Parenthood Mar Monte to install “sexual health resource cabinets” in 12 of its 28 public library branches.

These cabinets contain condoms, dental dams, pregnancy tests, lubrication, and sex educational pamphlets – available to anyone, of any age, without restriction or parental consent.

The organization said in an email the resources have “parents and child advocates alarmed,” with CFC Vice President Greg Burt adding,

“This is a grotesque violation of parental rights. Parents take their children to the library expecting books – not a sexual health free-for-all.”

“Condoms and lubricant have no place in the hands of children, especially without their parents’ knowledge or consent.”

CFC further explained, “The cabinets are openly placed in common areas, with signage asking: ‘Having sex? How safe are you?'”

“Visitors are encouraged – regardless of age – to scan a QR code linking directly to Planned Parenthood’s sex-ed website, which invites minors to “start your journey and get the info you need in a way that’s actually interesting.'”

Planned Parenthood Mar Monte offers abortions, opposite-sex hormones and contraceptives in the mid-California region and Nevada. In 2022, the organization received more than $28.4 million in government funds, while the library received more than $26.2 million in 2024 from the city and county.

In an interview with CBS Sacramento, library Community Engagement Services Manager Todd Deck defended the distribution of free sexual resources to patrons of all ages, saying:

“We want to remove the stigma around these resources. … Libraries are essential to healthy, thriving communities, so having resources that are of interest and needs of that community is really critical.”

“I do believe it is our responsibility to help have an informed community regardless of the topic, that way people can make informed decisions about their health.”

In making these free sexual materials available to minors, the library is going far beyond informing the community.

Children aren’t equipped to manage adult sexuality, something many adults find difficult, and the library is infringing on parents’ rights by offering sexual resources to them.

Burt told CBS, “Now parents are going to have to be concerned that instead of coming back with a book, their children will come back with a condom.”

“This is really about cutting parents out; it’s about sexualizing our children at younger ages.”

Radical sexual activist groups like Planned Parenthood and the American Library Association work overtime to sexualize children through age-inappropriate library books and materials; ineffective and morally problematic comprehensive sexuality education; “drag queen story hours”; and now, free sexual resources in libraries.

Such groups are motivated by an ideology that says sex is a human right – for people of all ages – and is primarily for pleasure. For them, there are no morals surrounding sexual behavior; the only prerequisite is “consent.” Planned Parenthood’s sex education resources teach children, adolescents and teens about how to give consent.

It’s important more than ever for parents to ground their children in a biblical, healthy view of sexuality. This should begin at an early age, with age-appropriate instruction.

Parents should also be aware that children will be exposed to inappropriate, confusing and immoral sexuality – even at the library.

Surprise, Surprise — Planned Parenthood Gave Children Explicit Coloring Books

Caution: the following includes examples of crude and graphic references to sex.

Planned Parenthood is “no longer welcome” at an interactive science museum in Kentucky after it distributed explicit coloring books to children last week.

No one should be surprised.

More than 400 elementary and middle school students reportedly attended Health & Wellness Days at the Kentucky Science Center (KSC) last Wednesday, where Planned Parenthood distributed an “adult-oriented” coloring book featuring:

  • Coloring pages with cartoon genitalia and contraception.
  • A wordsearch for genitalia, contraception and terms like “pleasure” and “safe sex.”
  • A page of “sexlibs” with fill-in-the-blanks like, “My favorite brand and style of condoms is _________ and _________.”

The KSC apologized for the book’s distribution on Facebook, explaining, “Planned Parenthood provided this material without our consent, and it does not reflect our policies or the intended content for this event.”

“This partner is no longer welcome at the Science Center,” the post concluded.

Planned Parenthood Great Northwest, Hawai’i, Alaska, Indiana, Kentucky (PPGNHAIK) strenuously and categorically denied handing out the explicit book — for about a day.

“We want to be clear: the coloring book currently being circulated online was not distributed at the event,” Jennifer Allen, PPGNHAIK’s director of external affairs, wrote on Wednesday, calling the allegations “part of a coordinated attempt to stir outrage and manufacture controversy.”

“Our materials used at events are age-appropriate, medically accurate, aligned with national standards and only used with appropriate audiences,” she claimed.

Allen halfheartedly corrected her emphatic denials on Thursday, acknowledging a staffer “inadvertently distributed an item that would not typically be used in a setting like this event.”

“While all material at the event was medically accurate, we apologize for this error and are reviewing our internal protocols,” she wrote.

I don’t know how “medically accurate” sexlibs can be, but I digress.

Allen carefully refused to call the coloring book inappropriate — a shrewd move considering Planned Parenthood distributes similarly graphic “resources” to kids every day online, in school and through social media.

Planned Parenthood promotes comprehensive sex education (CSE) — “rights-based” and “pleasure-based” curricula founded on the idea that children can consent to sexual activity. The International Planned Parenthood Federation, Planned Parenthood’s global non-profit, neatly summarizes:

Young people are sexual beings. They have sexual needs, desires, fantasies and dreams. It is important for all young people around the world to be able to explore, experience and express their sexualities in healthy, positive, pleasurable and safe ways. This can only happen when young people’s sexual rights are guaranteed.

Planned Parenthood and its allies helped create nearly all CSE curriculum taught in schools today, including a government-funded high school program called Get Real: Comprehensive Sex Education That Works.

An analysis of Get Real by Stop CSE, an online database cataloguing unproductive sex-ed curricula, found it contained 15 of 15 “harmful [CSE] elements” including:

  • Sexualizing children by “normalizing child sex or desensitizing children to sexual things.”
  • Teaching children to consent to sex.
  • Promoting premature sexual autonomy.
  • Promoting contraception and/or abortion to children.
  • Promoting gender ideology.
  • Promoting anal and oral sex.

Stop CSE writes scathingly:

Get Real contains the kinds of highly inappropriate material you would expect in a program written by Planned Parenthood.

Get Real and other CSE programs often refer kids to Planned Parenthood’s website for more information. Its sex-ed page for teens includes free resources like:

  • Explicit, detailed descriptions of oral, vaginal and anal sex.
  • Suggestions to make painful sex more pleasurable.
  • An “All About Sex” page with a drop-down section describing different sex toys.
  • Misleading videos denying biological realities, like this one saying virginity “is complicated and really up to you to decide what you believe.”

The materials, ostensibly meant for teens, link to other Planned Parenthood pages like:

  • This page on “Sex and Pleasure”, which lists different kinds of sexual acts people might find pleasurable, like “sexting” and “reading or watching porn.”
  • This page on sex toys, which lists nine different kinds, describes their functions in great detail and explains how they validate people with gender confusion.
  • This page on orgasms, which describes them as releasing endorphins that might make you feel “sleepy, relaxed and happy afterwards.”

Similar information is available on Planned Parenthood’s social media pages. Posts are frequently emblazoned with the same cartoon pornography found in the coloring book PPGNHAIK gave to kids in Kentucky.

PPGNHAIK’s Instagram page includes posts with cartoon condoms and sex toys.

“Masturbation is normal — and it’s a great way for you to learn what you enjoy,” one post reads. “It also has benefits for mental and physical health.”

As bad as that is, Planned Parenthood’s main Instagram page is exponentially worse. Posts include “how to” guides for risky sexual behaviors, crude and explicit innuendo and pornographic illustrations.

So, Planned Parenthood’s dissemination of an explicit coloring book to kids, while horrifying, is decidedly not surprising. Planned Parenthoods peddles explicit materials to children all day, every day.

Kids that engage in premature sexual conduct inevitably need birth control, STD screenings and treatment and, according to Planned Parenthood, abortions — all the services that keep it powerful and profitable.

Planned Parenthood Uses Taxes to Pay for Abortion, Radical Sex Ed

This is Part 2 of a two-part series examining the federal government’s support of Planned Parenthood under the guise of “family planning.” Part 1 unearthed Title X grants to Planned Parenthood. Part 2 highlights the interplay between Title X “family planning” grants and “teen pregnancy prevention grants,” which create a government-funded abortion pipeline..

Caution: The following includes graphic excerpts from government-approved “comprehensive sexual education.”

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has paid Planned Parenthood entities more than $53.7 million in “family planning” and “teen pregnancy prevention” grants since 2022, spending documents show.

Worth a cumulative $66.2 million, HHS will pay another $12.4 million on these eighteen grants by 2028.

The federal government has no business funding an abortion conglomerate like Planned Parenthood. The Hyde Amendment forbids Congress from promoting or paying for elective abortions.

But pro-abortion presidential administrations have undermined this spending restriction for decades using Title X, a federal grant program supporting “comprehensive family planning and related health services.”

Your Tax Dollars at Work

Title X money is distributed by HHS, which gives the executive branch significant authority over which kinds of services qualify for funding. Organizations that are physically and financially connected to abortion clinics, and those that refer women to get abortions, have been eligible for Title X grants since 2021.

In April 2022, HHS awarded 13 Title X grants to nine Planned Parenthood entities for “family planning services.” Worth a cumulative $56.6 million. HHS will pay another $7.3 million on these grants by March 2027.

Planned Parenthood claims Title X grants pay for services like cervical and breast cancer screenings, sexual wellness exams and STD testing and treatment. But HHS doesn’t require clinics to separate money for abortions and money for non-abortion services.

In other words, Title X grants — your taxes — dump into the same bank accounts that fund infanticide.

Even if Planned Parenthood clinics could prove taxes don’t pay for abortions directly, Title X grants inevitably free up unregulated donations to do the clinics’ dirty work. The line between abortion and non-abortion services gets particularly blurry when Title X-grantees profit from referring vulnerable women to the abortionist next door.

Sex Ed a la Planned Parenthood

“Family planning services” aren’t the only way Planned Parenthood gets government money. HHS also distributes grants for “teenage pregnancy prevention programs.”

In July 2023, HHS awarded Planned Parenthood clinics five grants worth $9.6 million for teenage pregnancy prevention. All five recipients use this money to implement and advance comprehensive sex education (CSE) — radical “rights-based” and “pleasure-based” sexuality curricula.

HHS offered Planned Parenthood of Massachusetts $2 million to implement its in-house CSE curriculum, Get Real: Comprehensive Sex Education That Works, in local high schools.

Published by Education Training and Research (ETR), a group whose motto is “Advancing Health Equity,” Planned Parenthood of Massachusetts describes Get Real as:

An 11-lesson, evidence-informed, inclusive, trauma-informed and age-appropriate comprehensive sex education curriculum with strong foundations in social and emotional learning and family engagement…that will lead to…delayed onset of vaginal, oral and anal sex.

It does not mention that Planned Parenthood, an organization with financial incentive to encourage sexual activity, developed Get Real. Nor does it address International Planned Parenthood’s alarming stance on the “sexual rights” of young people, which states:

Young people are sexual beings. They have sexual needs, desires, fantasies and dreams. It is important for all young people around the world to be able to explore, experience and express their sexualities in healthy, positive, pleasurable and safe ways. This can only happen when young people’s sexual rights are guaranteed.

Planned Parenthood’s significant bias toward premature sexual engagement show up in Get Real, despite the Massachusetts clinic’s claims to the contrary.

Stop Comprehensive Sexuality Education is an online database of information on CSE curricula and “the serious harms” they cause. Here’s what it had to say about Get Real’s high school curriculum:

Get Real — High School contains the kinds of highly inappropriate material you would expect in a program written by Planned Parenthood. It teaches radical gender ideology as fact and encourages students to develop their own beliefs on sexual matters.
Get Real normalizes oral, anal and vaginal sex and teaches students that oral sex and mutual masturbation are low-risk behaviors. Students learn detailed information about every STI and contraceptive method, and they are required to successfully complete the steps of condom use in pairs.
The program teaches how to access contraceptives and sexual health care and gives students a multitude of internet resources to research any sex-based questions.

According to StopCSE’s analysis, Get Real’s high school curriculum contains 15 of 15 “harmful elements typically found in CSE curricula or materials,” including,

  • Sexualizing children by “normalizing child sex or desensitizing children to sexual things.”
  • Teaching children to consent to sex.
  • Promoting anal and oral sex.
  • Promoting homosexual and/or bisexual behavior.
  • Promoting sexual pleasure as the main purpose for sex.
  • Promoting solo and/or mutual masturbation.
  • Promoting condom use in inappropriate ways, including “inappropriately eroticizing condom use or using sexually explicit methods to promote condom use to children.”
  • Promoting premature sexual autonomy.
  • Promoting transgender ideology.
  • Promoting contraception and/or abortion to children.

Get Real’s high school lessons, which includes exercises like labeling photorealistic genitalia and identifying the differences between circumcised and uncircumcised penises, build on lessons introduced in its middle school programs.

Get Real’s sixth grade curriculum, for instance, teaches 11- and 12-year-olds:

  • Explicit definitions of vaginal, anal and oral sex.
  • That “masturbation is a [safe sexual behavior] and a healthy way to explore one’s own body to find out what feels good.”
  • That “postponement and condom use are healthy behaviors for sixth graders.” (emphasis added)
  • That deciding when to become sexually active depends on whether a person “feels ready for sex.”

The four other Planned Parenthood clinics awarded HHS grants for “teen pregnancy prevention” are pushing “medically accurate and age-appropriate, evidence-based programs” just like Get Real in California, New York and Florida, according to their grant applications.

Why It Matters

Together, Title X “family planning” grants and “teen pregnancy prevention” grants form a taxpayer-funded abortion pipeline: American taxes pay pro-abortion organizations to teach kids how to have sex, then they pay Planned Parenthood to treat young people’s STDs and kill their unplanned babies.

The Daily Citizen supports any and all executive actions that defund Planned Parenthood and uphold the Hyde Amendment. The Trump administration has made important steps in this direction. To halt tax-payer support of domestic abortions, however, the President must:

  • Reinstate his 2019 Title X rules making it near impossible for pro-abortion organizations to purloin “family planning” funding.
  • Stop federally-funded programs from teaching comprehensive sex education.

This author, for one, is heartily sick of involuntarily enriching the abortion industry.

Planned Parenthood Receives Millions of Dollars Through Federal ‘Family Planning’ Grants

This is Part 1 of a two-part series examining the federal government’s support of Planned Parenthood under the guise of “family planning.”

The federal government pours tens of millions of taxpayer dollars into pro-abortion organizations like Planned Parenthood every year, a Daily Citizen investigation reveals, using Title X “family planning” grants.

The loophole effectively allows presidential administrations to violate the Hyde Amendment, a congressional spending restriction prohibiting taxes from funding or enabling elective abortions.

Title X is a federal grant program supporting “comprehensive family planning and related health services.” The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) distributes Title X money to organizations that provide “contraceptive services, supplies and information.”

HHS’ oversight gives the executive branch substantial authority to determine whether pro-abortion organizations can qualify for Title X funds. Under pro-abortion presidential administrations, Planned Parenthood has received hundreds of millions of Title X dollars.

Between fiscal years 2017 and 2025, HHS promised to pay $156.9 million to Planned Parenthood entities through 91 different grants. More than 80% ($126.3 million) of this money paid out of two funding buckets associated with Title X — Family Planning Services and Teen Pregnancy Prevention Programs.

But the abortion conglomerate, worth some $2.9 billion, hit a snag in 2019, when President Trump issued a rule requiring Title X-funded organizations to:

  • Refrain from referring women to get abortions;
  • “Maintain strict physical and financial separation from abortion services.”

The rule cost Planned Parenthood entities millions in taxpayer money. Between 2019 and 2021, the federal government owed the group a cumulative $20.9 million — significantly less than the $29.4 million promised in 2017 alone.

“The new rule forced Planned Parenthood health centers, along with many others, to withdraw from the Title X program,” the group complained, implicitly admitting it had previously mixed abortion services with federally-funded activities.

The Biden administration rescinded Trump’s Title X rule in 2021, allowing Planned Parenthood to continue gobbling taxpayer money. HHS paid the abortion giant more than $53.7 million in Title X grants between 2022 and 2025. Another $12.4 million is scheduled to pay out by June 2028.

Money is fungible; even if Planned Parenthood doesn’t use Title X money to fund abortions directly, the grants free up unregulated funds to perform and promote them.

What’s more, the 2021 HHS rule allows Planned Parenthood and its ilk to treat vulnerable women as sources of income.

Abortion providers make money by referring women to get abortions. In its most recent financial disclosures, Planned Parenthood reports raking in $383.3 million in between July 2023 and July 2024.

President Trump began reestablishing his pro-life legacy just days after starting his second term. On January 24, he issued two orders plugging some federal funding streams to elective abortions.

The first order reinstated the Mexico City policy, which stops the federal government from funding organizations that support or enable elective abortions abroad. The second revoked two executive actions from the Biden administration — one defining abortion as “healthcare” and the other “protecting…and promoting” access to abortions domestically.

The Daily Citizen supports any executive action that defunds abortion. To truly halt taxpayer-funded abortion, however, HHS must reinstate President Trump’s 2019 Title X rules.
