One Disney shareholder has a direct message for 61-year-old Bob Chapek, who currently serves as The Walt Disney Company’s Chief Executive Officer and a member of the company’s Board of Directors: Stay out of politics and get back to work!

Disney used to be one of the companies most beloved by Americans.

But The Daily Citizen has chronicled Disney’s slow slide into Leftist political activism over the past several years.

The corporation has systematically included same-sex relationships in television programming, sold merchandise to celebrate Pride Month, incorporated “gender-fluid” characters in promotional material, cancelled conservative actress Gina Carano, introduced a bisexual cartoon character, and has tried to find an actress to play a “transgender girl” in an upcoming animated film.

Yet, that all pales in comparison to the recent spate of actions that Disney has taken against Florida’s new parental rights in education bill.

After facing pressure from LGBT activist groups, Disney CEO Bob Chapek spoke out against Florida’s newly enacted Parental Rights in Education bill which “reinforces the fundamental right of parents to direct the care, education and upbringing of their children.”

It’s tragic that a company built on fostering children’s imaginations and bringing families together is now outspoken against parental rights.

Yet, some Disney employees thought Chapek hadn’t publicly spoken out against the bill quickly enough, leading the CEO to pen a formal apology to the Disney staff.

“You needed me to be a stronger ally in the fight for equal rights and I let you down. I am sorry,” Chapek wrote.

He also announced the company would donate $5 million to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC).

But HRC refused the donation until the organization witnesses Disney “build on [its] public commitment and work with LGBTQ+ advocates.”

Disney also recently announced an end to the introductory phrases “ladies and gentlemen” and “boys and girls” at its theme parks.

Now, one Disney shareholder is calling for an end to the craziness.

In an interview with Fox News, Ray Keating, a Disney shareholder, economist and editor of a Disney-focused blog, called on the Disney CEO directly to put an end to the company’s leftist drift.

“Here’s a suggestion for Disney CEO Bob Chapek: Get back to business, that is, excellence in storytelling, and stop wasting shareholder’s money on political crusades that have nothing to do with Disney’s business,” Keating said.

“We all have the right to have our voices heard on issues, but not on the shareholders’ dime.”

“Disney’s management succumbed to political pressure from activists on the Left, and now it’s getting hit from the Left and the Right,” Keating added. “If I weren’t a shareholder, I’d find it amusing.”

Only time will tell whether Keating’s call will be heeded or ignored to Disney’s detriment.
